Wombwell Hall’s Charity Event

On the 28th of September, The St George’s Centre proudly hosted a special fundraising event for Belmont Healthcare - Wombwell Hall in Northfleet, an independent care community providing progressive elderly care solutions.

The event brought together staff, residents and local supporters, raising much-needed funds for Ellenor Hospice and the Resident’s Fund. The day was a huge success, reaching many people and helping to spread the word about Wombwell Hall Care Home. Well-placed posters are displayed around St George’s Centre, helping to raise awareness of Belmont Healthcare’s work.

Regular Events at Wombwell Hall Care Home, Northfleet

The care home is a 120-bed care home nestled in the peaceful, tree-canopied surroundings in Wombwell Gardens, Northfleet. The care home specialises in nursing, dementia and palliative care, offering a home-from-home environment where residents feel safe, secure and supported.

Wombwell Hall holds regular events that bring entertainment and engagement to its residents. Their Mad Hatter’s Tea Party on the 27th of September was a fun and impactful way to raise awareness, as well as funds, for the causes they support. The day saw residents, staff and families come together with all proceeds going to Ellenor Hospice and the Resident’s Fund.

The care home continues to prioritise community involvement with more events planned in the future, including another Awareness Day here at The St George's Centre on Saturday 26th October, which everyone is looking forward to.
At Wombwell Hall, residents are encouraged to stay active and connected, weekly activities like therapy dog visits from Skye and performances from entertainers such as drag queen Miss Dot.Com, steel bands and Irish dancers keep residents engaged and uplifted. These events offer more than just entertainment, they can help residents feel part of a vibrant community.

The care home’s thoughtful approach also includes collaborations with local businesses, such as Iron Pier Brewery, which recently hosted a taster session for residents. It’s through these creative and compassionate efforts that Belmont ensures their residents have enriched lives.
