22nd to 31st August

If you were with us last summer, you’ll understand why we’re bringing the summer beach back to St George's. The sandpit was full, the treasure hunts were a hit and the sound of children laughing filled the centre each and every day! Parents and carers relaxed into deck chairs with a coffee or ice cream in hand, watching the fun unfold. For a moment, it really did feel like the seaside.

So, this year, we’re doing it again! Here are the dates:

Date: Thursday 22nd August to Sunday 31st August
Time: 10am to 4pm

St George’s Shopping Centre will be transformed once more into a bright, beach-inspired space for families to enjoy together. Entry is completely free and the beach will be open daily.

Where You’ll Find It and What to Expect

The 2025 beach will be set up between Shine Foods and BB’s Café, close to the main lifts and stairs at the back of the shopping centre. It’s easy to find, with seating right next to the sand so you can pause and relax while your little ones play. Just follow the sound of children playing and you’ll soon spot them knee-deep in fun!

Here’s a little of what you can look forward to:

A sand play area, fully stocked with buckets and spades
Deck chairs so grown-ups can relax and still keep an eye on the fun
Local traders offering summer treats and essentials
Cafés close by for when you fancy a coffee or cool drink

And yes, Debs Cards will be back too. Her much-loved stall will be stocked with buckets, spades, windmills, beach toys and all the colourful extras your little ones will love.

Are You Interested in Trading During Beach Week?

Book a Flexible Retail Pod During Beach Week

New for 2025, we’re offering a limited number of Flexible Pod retail spaces, perfect for short-term summer trading right in the heart of the action.

With Beach Week set to attract hundreds of families each day, this is a great opportunity to set up a pop-up stall near the beach area and get your products in front of a busy, engaged audience. Footfall will be high, the atmosphere full of energy and many visitors will be spending longer in the centre while their children play.

If you sell family-friendly products such as crafts, toys, summer accessories or anything that brings a smile, we’d love to hear from you. (Please note, food stalls are not permitted.)

You can book online, spaces are limited and the pods are expected to fill up fast.

Take a Look at Last Year

If you're not sure what to expect, have a scroll through our Beach Day photo gallery. You'll see sand-covered toes, spinning windmills and faces lit up with the kind of joy that warms the heart!

This really is one of our favourite events of the year. It brings local people together, keeps children happy for hours and gives everyone a reason to slow down and enjoy a proper community day out.

No booking needed, no cost to join in. Just bring yourselves and your little ones and and get ready for some good old-fashioned summer fun.

We’ll see you at the beach!
