This November, St George's Shopping Centre in Gravesend invites you to take part in a touching tribute to those who have served and sacrificed, with the introduction of a Walkway of Remembrance.

Our Tribute to the Fallen – November 3rd to November 24th, 2024

From November 3rd to November 24th, 2024, the Centre will create a Walkway of Remembrance, which will feature a stunning display of poppy flags, each one dedicated to a fallen hero or loved one. This year, all profits from the project will go to the Royal British Legion, which supports veterans and their families.

How You Can Sponsor a Poppy Flag

Mona Whitton is running this project and is proud to lead the initiative. As part of St George’s ongoing commitment to community engagement, the Centre has recently installed the infrastructure for a seasonal hanging art installation. The display will change throughout the year to reflect local celebrations, and this November, it will become a Walkway of Remembrance.
The poppy flags will line the Centre and the public is invited to sponsor a flag. They can have a loved one’s name printed or alternatively, we will choose a name at random of one of Gravesend's fallen from the archives.

For just £4.00, you can sponsor a flag and choose to have the name of a loved one printed upon it. Alternatively, if you prefer, we will select a name from the archives of Gravesend’s fallen and add this as a touching tribute to your flag.

Once the walkway is taken down, if you wish to keep your flag, you can collect it from the St George’s Arts Centre on December 4th, 2024.

You can purchase a flag from Mona Whitten Art using the link below.
