Coming to St George’s Arts Centre this Christmas

This December, St George’s Arts Centre will host an immersive Christmas adventure, created especially for children and families.

Snowdrop and Sneaky invites visitors into a festive world that can be experienced in two ways - as a free drop-in exhibition or as a ticketed live performance led by the Woodland Caretaker. Both are designed to spark children’s imaginations and give families a festive outing to enjoy together.

The Story

Snowdrop and Sneaky is a heart-warming tale about friendship, confidence and the shared joy of Christmas.

From 16th December, you wil be able to wander through the Arts Centre at their own pace, reading the storyboards that guide you through Snowdrop and Sneaky’s journey, in addition you can choose to join a live performance where the Woodland Caretaker brings the story to life.

The Creative Vision

This project has been shaped by writer Philippa Dunstan, who wanted to create something different from a traditional play or a gallery exhibition. Instead, she developed an immersive experience that brings together storytelling, art and interaction in a new way.

“I believe in the power of creative experiences to spark young imaginations,” Philippa explains. “By introducing children to galleries, storytelling and immersive adventures, we can offer a vibrant, inclusive alternative to traditional panto which is fun-filled, engaging and bursting with curiosity. It is not just a show, it is a journey into new worlds where every child belongs.”

The magical setting will be brought to life by artist and set designer Mona Whitton, whose vision is to transform the Arts Centre into a place of festive wonder.
“I wanted to create a world of wonder where children and grown-ups alike could wander into sparkling fairy kingdoms and watch Christmas wishes come to life.”

The Exhibition

The Snowdrop and Sneaky exhibition is free and open to everyone. From 16th December simply visit the St George's Arts Centre, children and adults will be able to explore the storyboards together, enjoying the festive setting as the tale unfolds.

We offer everyone the chance to enjoy the magic of Christmas in a new way. Whether you choose the free exhibition or a live performance, children will be inspired to imagine, explore and create and take memories home to treasure.
