Opening every Tuesday, 10am–5pm
We're delighted to welcome the Rethink Sahayak Support Hub to St George’s Centre and we couldn't be more proud to share this news. This new weekly service offers free, confidential and culturally sensitive mental health support, right here in The St George's Centre.
Mental health can be hard to talk about. For many people in ethnic minority communities, it is often considered taboo. Add in language barriers, a lack of accessible information, or uncertainty about where to turn and it is easy to feel isolated or overwhelmed.
The team at Rethink Sahayak understands these challenges and is here to help. Their goal is simple - to make sure no one feels alone when struggling with their mental wellbeing.
What is the Rethink Sahayak Support Hub?
What Kind of Support Is Available?
Rethink Sahayak offers a wide range of emotional and practical support for people aged 16 and over:
One-to-one support tailored to your personal needs
Free service referrals and signposting to local mental health and wellbeing services
Culturally sensitive guidance, with interpreters available if required
Support for family members and carers
Volunteer opportunities for those who want to give back
Peer-led support groups to help reduce isolation and build confidence
Their approach is person-centred, trauma-informed and community-focused, with a strong emphasis on inclusion and respect.
DGS Support Group Programme
As part of their outreach, Rethink also runs a 12-week peer support programme in Dartford, Gravesham, Swanley and Ashford. This group offers a chance to build friendships, share experiences, and explore tools like mindfulness and coping strategies. Guest speakers and community topics help keep sessions engaging and relevant, all within a safe, confidential environment.
Volunteers Wanted
Rethink is currently looking for local volunteers who want to make a difference. Whether you’ve experienced mental health challenges yourself or just want to help others, volunteering is a brilliant way to learn new skills and support the wider community.
Pop in and see us at The St George's Centre, every Tuesday for more information.
