How Randomly Retro is Sparking Nostalgia at St George’s

It’s been just over a month since Randomly Retro arrived at the Green Pod in the St George’s Centre, bringing a burst of colour, charm and nostalgia to the heart of the shopping centre.

We caught up with owner Emma Lowe to find out how her first few weeks have been, what’s been flying off the shelves and what’s still to come for this creative and characterful pop-up shop.

Vintage Finds & Friendly Stories

Emma describes her first month as “really supportive,” with lots of visitors popping in to browse, share stories and relive memories sparked by her stock.
“One of the best parts has been the conversations,” says Emma.

“People are drawn in by something familiar and suddenly they’re telling me stories about their grandparents, childhood toys or the homes they grew up in! It’s not just shopping - it’s the memories, the emotions and the shared experiences. That’s been really special.”

What’s Been Flying Off the Shelves?

Emma says one category in particular has captured shoppers’ attention.

“Vintage jewellery has been especially popular,” she explains. “The 90s plastic rings have been a firm favourite, they’re fun, colourful and bring back so many memories for people.”

A Vibrant Space, Constantly Changing

The pod gives Emma the perfect space to keep her display fresh and exciting. New stock arrives weekly, with sneak peeks shared on the Randomly Retro Facebook page for those eager to see what’s coming in next. From kitsch kitchenware to retro fashion accessories, there’s always something new to explore. For our shoppers, no two visits are ever quite the same.

What’s Coming Next?

The coming weeks will bring even more to discover at Randomly Retro, with fresh stock arriving across several categories. Highlights include:

Vintage menswear and ladies’ accessories
A new selection of homewares
Quirky steampunk clothing and accessories
Craft supplies such as vintage fabrics, sewing patterns, lace, ribbon and kawaii-style jewellery findings

Whether you’re a maker, collector or just love browsing through something a little different, Randomly Retro will be well worth checking back in on.
"Our collection spans several decades and we have a huge amount in storage" says Emma.

"If someone is looking for something in particular, they can simply ask. If it is not on display, I might still have it or I will do my best to find it for them."

Come and See for Yourself

Whether you’re after a thoughtful gift, a statement piece for your home or simply want to browse through a collection that feels like stepping into the past, Randomly Retro is open now in the Green Pod.

Emma’s three-month residency runs through to August and there’s plenty more to discover in the weeks ahead.
