At St George's Centre, we are dedicated to sustainability and environmental stewardship. Our robust waste management policy ensures that we recycle over 75% of the waste generated by both our tenants and the general public, with an ambitious goal to increase this to over 80% by the end of 2025.

Waste Management and Recycling

Our Waste Management Policy Statement reflects our commitment to treating waste as a valuable resource. We strive for zero waste to landfill and aim to create renewable energy from waste by-products. We focus on collecting, sorting and recovering recyclable materials, ensuring that all waste materials are either reused, recycled or recovered for their energy content.

Waste Management Policy Statement

Our waste management policy statement outlines St George's Centre's commitment to minimising environmental impact through effective waste management. We comply with the Duty of Care regulations, maintaining records of waste production and transfer through legally required Waste Transfer Notes.

By adhering to this policy, we aim to foster a culture of sustainability and environmental responsibility within our centre and the broader community.

Energy and Water Conservation

In addition to our recycling efforts, we are actively engaged in projects to reduce the Centre's energy and water consumption. These initiatives include:
Energy-efficient lighting
Upgrading to LED lighting throughout the centre.
Water-saving fixtures
Installing low-flow faucets and toilets.
Smart energy management systems
Implementing advanced systems to monitor and control energy usage.

Sustainable Procurement

We adhere to sustainable procurement processes, choosing suppliers committed to sustainability and selecting products with a lower environmental impact. This ensures that our operations support our environmental objectives.

Community Involvement

We engage with our tenants and visitors through educational programs and initiatives designed to promote sustainable practices. Achieving our environmental goals requires the collective effort of our entire community.

Join Us in Our Efforts

We invite everyone who visits or works at St George's Centre to join us in our efforts to create a more sustainable environment. Whether by using our recycling bins, participating in our energy-saving initiatives or simply being mindful of waste, every action counts.
